I highly recommend the Skeptics Dictionary, its an invaluable resource debunking everything from graphology to Amway. I wish I had access to this in my younger, more impressionable years (Amway bastards!).
Electioneering Hoopla

So, its election year in my little corner of the world, and all the politician types are desperately trying any trick they can for some face time on TV. The leader of the opposition is about to face up to a 'secret' opponent in a celebrity charity boxing match. The best bit is that these celebrities are going to bash each other up to fight teen suicide. I'm not the first to wonder about how stupid that sounds, considering a fair percentage of teen suicides are a result of bullying, and generally getting bashed up. It doesn't matter, I wasn't going to vote for him anyway.

The current PM got herself an interview on Strassman, which - for you non-locals - isn't a hard-hitting current affairs show, but a lightweight chat show where guests are interviewed by ventriloquist David Strassman and a selection of dummies. Its quite often hard to spot the difference between any of the three.

It gets harder and harder not to be completely cynical about the whole process - it doesn't really matter who you vote for, the government always gets in. I guess the political spin-doctors have a bit more work to do in my demographic.
