Its all proportional - mostly

I still hear people complaining about MMP, how it leads to minority Governments that can't always assemble a majority to vote in their pet legislation.
I thought that was the point! The MPs in parliament are a fairly close representation of votes of the people. Sure, it means that the ones that manage to form a coalition with enough MPs to outnumber the opposition will have to do some wheeling and dealing, maybe they'll have to change a few of their policies to suit, but that's because a majority of people didn't vote for them on the basis of their stated policies.
Plus its a lot more fun to watch...
